PIX for Windows

PIX is a performance and debugging tool for DirectX. It comes with the DirectX SDK.

PIX captures the calls made to DirectX, including the resources such as textures and vertex data and the device state.

Notes:
  • Use command-line arguments: --in-process-gpu --no-sandbox
    • --single-process may also work
  • PIX only works with DirectX, which chrome uses via ANGLE by default, but can be forced with --use-gl=egl
  • Optionally, to make the "Debug This Pixel" feature more reliable you must recompile Chrome with the src/third_party/angle/src/libEGL/Display.cpp file modified to have "#define ANGLE_ENABLE_D3D9EX 0".
